Lightweight to Studio Rod Adaptor
thingiverse
The studio adapter allows mounting lightweight accessories made specifically for 15mm rods spaced at 60mm intervals onto studio hardware utilizing 15mm rods separated by 100mm spacings. Ideal for small light attachments such as a follow focus mechanism, it provides perfect mounting options. Engineered with the aid of FreeCAD, the open-source CAD software. Source files available on Github: https://github.com/fdiebel/studio-rod-adaptor Instructions I produced this adapter using PLA filament with print settings resulting in fairly good outcomes. Layer thickness was set at 0.22 and walls were made to be 2.05mm thick with a fill density of 50%. However, the lightweight design caused a minimal degree of flex when I attached my follow focus mechanism. I noticed that there could have been a tighter fit for your studio support rods within the mounts provided on the lower base; it would be beneficial to smooth out the inner surfaces slightly if necessary. To complete the construction process, you will need two M4 nuts and two 20mm long M4 bolts. Ideally, using bolts with wing nuts can significantly ease the manual tightening and loosening processes involved.
