This extruder aims to lighten the X carriage on an upgraded Prusa Mendel, featuring a 5:1 gear ratio and NEMA14 stepper motor, while avoiding Bowden-type designs for ease of filament loading. It has been successfully tested at 60mm/sec with ABS, PLA, and Ninjaflex. The printed components were made using ABS with 3 vertical shells, 3 top and bottom layers, and 20% infill. For customization, STEP files are provided for mounting directly onto a 2mm aluminum plate; detailed instructions can be found in the accompanying PDF document.
