Lightweight CR10 exruder fan holder

This is based on the Ender 2/3/5 part-cooling fan duct (also fits CR10) by xeVox. So go over there and check out their superb cooler. This project started somewhere else. The desire to shed some weight from moving parts on my 3d printer. The CR10 uses a metal cover for the fans. This seems to me that this is a sturdy but heavy option and heavy is something we want to avoid when moving parts around. Add to that that the stock turbofan was about as powerful moving air like an asthmatic house mouse. Again, looking in the Thingiverse box I found the thing linked above. This design worked super well and printing it with thin walls and with lesser infill made it light even with the bigger turbo fan added. However! I could not get over the urge to lighten it even more. Thanks to the authors of the earlier creation they generously provided two important parts: a file called 'ender_fanduct.stp' and one called 'references.stp'. These two files provided the dimensions and measurements for the Ender hot-end carrier sled and their own creation. So by using the files I made an even smaller variant. This time I removed the sweeping duct body that funnel air around the nozzle and by removing parts of the mount for the turbofan. The model should be rotated on its back before printing and support is recommended. The screw holes are a bit small for the stock fan screws but a fast filing with a small screwdriver should solve that. All original screws can be used. Check the provided image However, be cautions with the amount of support and use your good judgment. It can be hard to remove support from the small duct without destroying the flange in there.
