This design incorporates parts sourced from the Ender 2/3/5 part-cooling fan duct, also compatible with CR10, courtesy of xeVox. Head over to their site and check out their exceptional cooler. After completing the CR10 extruder fan project, I thought this model could be even more lightweight by eliminating the turbo fan. Removing the funnel from the extruder mount eliminated the need for a turbo fan altogether. Swapping the turbo fan with a standard 40mm fan would be a great option. Note: The tilted mount for the second 40mm fan brings it extremely close to the z-axis stepper mount, as shown in the attached image. If you have modifications or use a taller fan, this setup may not fit your printer. In the picture, everything is standard except for the extruder fan holder. The Aavid Thermalloy PAAD14010B fan used measures 10.6mm in height, leaving about 1mm of clearance. Print this model with its back facing up and consider using support material. The screw holes are slightly small for stock fan screws but can be easily enlarged with a small screwdriver. You can use all original screws, although the design is somewhat delicate. When printing with thin walls and low infill, it may be challenging to remove supports from the tilted 40mm fan mount. Use your best judgment when adding support material to avoid any issues.
