Lightweight Avocado Boat with Dock

Weight optimized remix of Avocado boat by fns720 with optional dock.

Be aware that this is not an easy print!

The model is optimized for weight, not for being watertight, which is quite the opposit. So please don't blame the model or me if it is not working for you.

I had some bigger and heavier Avocado stones and the original boat nearly submerged due to it's weight. I really like the design of the boat so I decided to make a lightweight remix of it - half the weight than the original using 0.3mm DRAFT settings in Prusa Slic3er.

I also added a dock to let the boat float!

The part where the Avocado sits has an inner diameter of 42mm. If you have a quite big Avocado stone, like the one in the pictures, use the big version of the boat with an inner diameter of roughly 50mm.

Update 13.10.2021: Added v2 with two layers of two perimeters around the inner edges of the boat and the dock to seal of the tiny holes where the bottom infill meets the perimeters. Looks like this did the trick.

Printing:

0.3mm DRAFT, external perimeters first

Waterproofing:

To get v1 waterproof I coated the bottom edges (2-3mm height) with a nearly invisible layer of beeswax using a heat gun. v2 works fine without treatment - at least for me.

Please leave a comment or a photo if you print it!
