I wanted to create a DIY low voltage Lightbulb to illuminate the Lithophanes I made for Christmas presents using inexpensive LED strip lights I had laying around. The LED's I had were so bright that without the globe to act as a diffuser, they created an uneven lighting pattern and unattractive Hotspots and shadows behind the lithophane. This was made specifically for LED Strip Lights, SMD 2835 LED Strip Warm White 3500K , DC12V High Density LED Light Strips but I am sure it can be adapted for others. Here is the link for amazon. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08YXKVC61?ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details&th=1 I printed this very fast at .3 layer height because it is going to be internal to the lantern and is not going to be seen however, you and print as you see fit. I used 99% infill because these particular LEDs are insanely bright and needed quite a bit of diffusion. SInce they are so densely packed together on the strip, you can fit 21 of them in the holder if you bend it back on itself and that seemed to work about perfect. I imagine you could play with reducing the infill and number of LEDs to suit your needs. I did use supports for the dome, but that will depend on the capabilities of your printer. The two pieces press fit together fairly snugly but perhaps someone would feel like remixing this and add threads to fit them together. Anyway, Enjoy and Happy Holidays.
