Lightsaber - Luke (ROTJ)
thingiverse
Huge Star Wars fan here! I'm thrilled to share this project with you. To ensure accuracy, I researched "official" prop dimensions online and incorporated them into this assembly. This design should be spot on, but keep in mind that it doesn't include the ring meant to hook onto the bottom - I opted for a metal one instead, which will provide durability. Additionally, the buttons and switches are non-functional, but everything else is accurate to the original. Enjoy! Things you need to know: This assembly consists of 9 parts. For optimal results, print parts 2, 3, 4, and 6 normally, while printing parts 1, 5, 7, and 8 upside-down. Position part 3.5 with its flattest surface facing the printer bed and buttons facing upwards. Only parts 2, 3.5, and 6 require support material. A moderate amount of infill is fine - refer to the image for assembly details. I recommend using a robust adhesive, such as epoxy, to attach each part securely. My own print was done on an Ultimaker 2+ with a 0.4 mm nozzle and 15% infill. It took around 24 hours to complete. Note: Due to a lack of silver colored PLA, my creation isn't entirely uniform in color. However, I plan to sand, prime, paint, glue, and apply a protective layer to rectify this issue. Once completed, I'll share those results with you.
