LIGHTSABER - LED - Fully Functional

This is a 3D printed Light Saber designed as a personal project to keep myself occupied and submit it to the #lightitup challenge. Check out my demo video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mhZpyn2MeaM&feature=youtu.be. First, let me say that this print/make is incredibly easy. The handle only requires two main prints, and you have the option of printing six individual sliding cylinders or one with all of them embedded in it. Every print can be done on a single extruder without any supports needed, and the tallest print is 155mm high on the Z axis. As long as your printer can reach 155mm in height, you can make this no problem at all. The only thing you'll need to buy is an LED light and remote for $10: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FS7N0J8?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00. I used Bendlay filament for the cylinders, mainly because it allows a lot of light to pass through (91%) and is also much stronger than PLA. It's pricey, but totally worth it for this project. If you prefer, you can print the cylinders in natural PLA/ABS or any translucent filament you want to use, but you won't get the same glow effect as with Bendlay. Here's a link to Bendlay: http://www.matterhackers.com/store/3d-printer-filament/175mm-bendlay-three-quarter-kg.
