A cutting-edge USB rechargeable lightsaber model is unveiled, directly inspired by the highly anticipated lightsaber featured in The Force Awakens movie. Ethan Ouimet and Eric Thomas spearheaded this collaborative project, showcasing their ingenuity. While Ethan handled the design and painting aspects, Eric oversaw the file adaptation and 3D printing processes. With Star Wars day just a week away, the idea of crafting this exceptional lightsaber came to life, sparking intense creative energy within them. The meticulous completion included getting it fully operational with rechargeable USB functionality and precise painting. All the necessary files including STL (.stl) models and Fusion 360 projects are conveniently shared with users worldwide for effortless experimentation. Those utilizing Dimension 1200es printers were able to yield high-quality final prints, however, individuals using smaller printer models such as the Makerbot Replicator could seamlessly achieve identical results by slicing their project file via meshmixer or Fusion, effectively enabling smaller segment printouts and manual assembly. To set up your newly crafted lightsaber model, simply attach a 3mmx8mm screw to securely fasten the Blade Emitter's Front Plate in place. This meticulously designed part contains key details including holes for precise mounting purposes. Users can discover more intricacies once inside; housing a LiPo battery alongside three red LEDs linked together via carefully placed resistors. Assembling both GripSection and BladeEmitter pieces is essential; despite their slight friction, the snug fit of each part enhances overall usability. It's worth noting that incorporating a groove or slot may enhance user experience. Users also need to install polycarbonate tubes, one being the primary blade (0.5 in OD) and the secondary side blades (.4in OD), with neither possessing an exact match in size due to pressing deadlines; the only viable option is to securely attach these tubes using a reliable adhesive - preferably something like hot glue - allowing them to seamlessly blend with each interior surface of both sections; users who have limited options will not experience difficulties in accomplishing this process as numerous retailers sell such items at low prices, including local companies. To amplify visual effect one can achieve an extraordinary lighting experience by carefully inserting cellophane tape within polycarbonate tubing then removing the rod afterwards and replacing with your standard dollar-store sourced clear sheets; users with restricted creativity will enjoy this step significantly due to reduced expenses involved.
