Lightsaber Creation Kit

The Lightsaber Creation Kit (LCK) is made up of 15 main pieces. Three Pummels, three Grips, three Joiners, three Barrels, and three Emitters are the core components. A set in Red, B set in White, and C set in Blue make up a distinct trio. Additional pieces include an extension for one Barrel, buttons, and switch pieces for the Joiners, and fins for two of the Grips. With no more than one item from each category and between 3 and 5 total pieces, over 350 combinations can be created from this kit. I designed the entire system to print with supports. Only parts with buttons or switches require glue to attach their components. Building the sabers requires no glue and can be easily disassembled. Each piece features threads on both ends, except for the Emitters and Hilts. A coupler piece is included to connect the pieces in the desired order. Update: 2/20/16 - I uploaded Emitter A, B, and C remix with threading to facilitate blade removal from my derelict saber found here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1309830. My goal is to model more parts and incorporate them into this system. I plan to examine known lightsabers and edit them to work seamlessly with the LCK. The example saber in the pictures consists of Pummel_B, Grip_B, Joiner_A, Barrel_A without the extension, Emitter_A, and two couplers: one printed in ABS like the other lightsaber parts, and one printed in PLA. One picture shows the PLA coupler between two components. I would love to hear your comments or see pictures of the sabers you create using this kit. The LCK is modeled after a set designed by RM and sold in 2009 before their business ceased operations. Print Settings: * Printer: FlashForge Creator Pro * Rafts: Doesn't Matter * Supports: No * Resolution: 200 Micron * Infill: 20% * Notes: Printed some parts in ABS, while others were printed in PLA. The shrink or swell of the plastic makes a minimal difference, but with patience, it assembles fine. Post-Printing: * Emitters A and B do not require couplers. * None of the Pummels need couplers. * Emitter C does require a coupler. I designed these pieces using Autodesk Fusion 360.
