Lights for E3D V6, extruder and Toranado
thingiverse
I couldn't see much under the extruder so I made light.\nUsing ultra bright LEDs and a resistor along with some 3D tech know-how and presto.\nFollow the photos, longer leg of the LEDs facing one way as known as the positive side, join them up in series, the resistor is fitted on the red wire and covered in heat sleeve, the two wires on each end of the LEDs, cut a bit short and poke through hole, then solder the ends of the wires and connect other leads to LEDs. Solder the black wire to the shorter side of LED, and the red wire with the resistor to the longer side of LED. Make sure there is room for resistor, best resting on the LEDs, it won't affect the light. Then test the light by connecting it up to a 12V supply, if it works then you can glue the cover.\nIt's ready to put in the extruder. I made it to fit perfectly to the Thingiverse make:196385 and it should fit on E3D V6 and clones too.\nLet me know if it fits on any other extruder, hat or whatever?\nParts required\nThree LEDs 3mm ultra bright\nOne resistor 270 ohms (can have 300 ohms or 330 ohms)\nHeat sleeve\nRed and black wire\nAs requested October 4, 2016 by Sorcerer34, thank you.\nI added to STL three 3mm LEDs for a 40mm fan (updated)\nNote\nYou can connect it to a heat sink fan or switch it on as you like, it's up to you.\nI didn't add the 5mm LEDs, they're slightly bigger and brighter, the 3mm ones are much better, I do have STL if you want it.\nPrint settings\nPrinter: \n Sintron Prusa\n \n Rafts: \n No\n \n Supports: \n No\n \n Resolution: \n 0.15mm\n \n Infill: \n 100%\n \n Notes: \n Need to stick with 100% infill, PLA, no fan.
