This release may produce a wide range of electromagnetic radiation, from extremely hot plasma created by rapid electron movement to stunning flashes of visible light in the form of black-body radiation. Electrifying force causes thunder, a sound from the shock wave which develops as gases near the discharge experience a sudden surge in pressure.
