Lighting Remote Holder

Lighting Remote Holder

thingiverse

We've had two remote controlled lights in our bedroom that we control using a tiny remote, but finding this small controller was a daily struggle due to our two mischievous cats constantly batting it around or hiding it elsewhere than the bedside table. So I decided to build a simple holder that would keep it within reach by our bedsides. The remote itself measures 3.5cm in width and 1.6cm in depth, fitting snugly into the holder with just enough space for air circulation around it. I designed the holder using Autodesk Fusion, and printed it on my printrbot Simple Metal 3D printer. This little contraption is sturdy enough to support the remote without toppling over while still allowing easy access to all its buttons. The holder is 4cm high and fits neatly by our bedsides. All you have to do to assemble this piece of ingenuity is print it standing upright, naturally, and glue it securely to the wall using a poster strip adhesive. Printing at 100% infill helped reinforce the thin walls sufficiently so they only needed three or four lines of plastic for support.
