prusaprinters
Making videos is just a hobby for me, so to keep it from sucking up a lot of money, I try to make do with things I already have. Case in point: I recently needed to add a rim light to my studio setup, so I wondered if I could improvise a solution. I've had this cheap clamp-on workshop lamp for years, but it didn't throw a very controlled beam in its natural form, so I whipped up a simple scrim cover for it. Now it works just fine for my purposes. The choke includes a flange around one half of its perimeter that grips the rim of the lamp and holds it in place.I've included STLs with 100 and 50 mm holes, but you can create any size you want by changing the hole_diam setting in the OpenSCAD file. (As an exercise, it might be fun to create an irising version so you can adjust it to whatever diameter you need.)I printed mine in PLA at 0.3mm layer height and it works just fine with my LED bulbs, but if you're using hotter lights, you will probably need a higher-temperature material.Note: This only just fits on the bed of my MK3S+. If your lamp is any wider than mine, you may need to get creative with it.
