UPDATE: Version 2 Smoothed (front, rear and jaw) for faster printing / easier post processing and painting / less ringing from extruder smaller detail movements.
Bone sutures kept to stand out for depth.

Large human sized skull with posts for mounting eyes (not included), and LED lit eye sockets, tubes and cavity (with concealed slide out cover) for wiring up to 5mm LEDs and 3AA battery case,
or 12v 5mm LEDs and wall power.
Even if not intending to light, this is a much easier, cleaner print and the eyeball option realllllllly makes it pop!

Eyeballs file added for those with no stuffed toys to cannibalize and have desire to paint or color :-)

Remixed from Thingiverse Makerbot Human skull https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:622390 and scaled up 250%.

Smallest bed dimensions for this print: 210mmx158mm
Improved mesh to eliminate unnecessary overhang spots and reduce others, while maintaining the realism.
Print with overhang set to 55 degrees and support interface (top and bottom)for easier removal.
I preferred tree supports everywhere and had no failures.
Smoothed mesh from weird banding due to the original scan.
Changed skull alignment pins for easy fit testing and removal to post process and paint.
Combined, remeshed and cleaned and resplit front/back mating faces for more precise seam.
Reduced clearance for jaw pins for a better friction fit and gluing (down from .8mm all around to .2mm clearance)
Battery case works for 5 volt LEDs. Optionally use 12v LEDs and 2 prong power connector for 12 volt adapter and regular wall plug option.

VASTLY improved illumination by sanding the bulb dome head to flat.
Essentially it can be displayed in home with 12v, or 5v pack plugged in and Skully taken out for an evening of fine dimly lit dining to impress and entertain.
Slide out cover has slot for that wall powered cord option.

Adjust Z size of eye posts to get depth just right for your liking.
EYE POSTS:
"Slotted eye posts" version is for those putting lights in if you don't have clear filament for light transmission.
"ring eye tube" my favorite if using eyes, clear filament and LEDs (up to 5mm). length adjusted to mostly conceal post from oblique angle
Any eye posts you prefer if not using lights.

SOLID eye posts are GREAT as blanks to protect those sockets while spraying or air brushing paint in there

“ eye tubes” as one more option

I used largest decent looking eyes I could find on Amazon (several half round sets available at around 26mm diameter multi-packs coming out to about $1/pair (see pics).
I used plumbers putty to affix eyes to eye posts before getting clear filament for eye ring posts. Works GREAT, with option to changed orienting of eyes a bit (like cross-eyed, or looking to the side) because its not permanently attached.

Jaw model LOOKS unstable for printing, but the supports attach and stabilize it almost from the start, so no worries.
Use slower speed for jaw than skull, given the smaller details and surfaces.

You'll want to start with a mostly full roll of filament if not painting, so it's all the same color

Settings: 3 walls for all files. Supports with 55 degree overhang. Slower speed for jaw and eye posts (45mm/s is good). I prefer 20mm/s for first layer.
If your pins/posts have trouble going in, just slightly reduce x/y size in slicer (in steps of .1 or .2mm, you don't want them sloppy loose)

Candy Brain Bucket is NOW PUBLISHED!: My remix using this skull as basis for exposed brain on top, removable as candy storage, Halloween dispenser/receiver!

https://www.printables.com/model/287225-candy-brain-bucket
