My first creation to be shared publicly. This project exists because I couldn't find any other solution that met my requirements. I needed an LED light that could integrate seamlessly into my printer. This design fits perfectly into standard extruded aluminum printer frame grooves, which are 20mm wide. To make it easier to print, I created the design in a 50mm length, allowing it to be printed in sections and assembled on-site without needing to be cut down. I successfully integrated the LED light at the bottom of my Ender 3 Pro's top bar by threading the wires through a crack in the right pillar past the screws. I used single cat 5 wires for the positive and negative connections. To power the lights, I used an LED strip lighting kit from Amazon that can be cut to length (16mm segments) and soldered onto a USB cable. I plugged it into an unused USB port on my Raspberry pi, but initially tested with USB power sticks. The default print settings of any standard printer will work perfectly for this design. I printed the piece with the open groove facing down, which created a small support that was easily removed without effort. Be cautious when removing supports, as the grooves are very thin. To further enhance my setup, I also used another item from Thingiverse - the AM8 Power Switch Box by Jsschlat. This allowed me to switch the lights on or off at will. (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2954715) For the LED strip lighting, I used this product: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01G572CAW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The power switch was sourced from here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071YMKTP6/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I repurposed an old USB A-B cord, hacking off the B side and soldering it into the circuit. The gray light in the picture is a low-quality test print. Initially, I had some issues with my setup, but all the good prints are installed now. Additionally, I've included a simple circuit diagram for the wiring. (The lights attached to the power supply in the lower right of the picture use a similar design and are part of the same long circuit. They're actually a modified version of the 50mm light strip minus the groove for extrusion.)
