Light up your printer
thingiverse
Want to add something cool to your timelapse that shows how your print is coming along? This simple light-bar setup for Anycubic Mega series printers should be easy to convert to fit your specific printer. There are three parts you'll need to print: a test piece, the main light bar, and a display bar to show percentage completion. Here's what you need to do: First, print out the relevant parts - it should only take around 5 minutes for the test piece to complete. Then, get some WS2812B LEDs like these ones https://amzn.to/2KhvcIH. I'm still working on getting the code right to display the relevant information in colorful lights and integrate it into the OctoPrint API. There's another stage of this project in the works that will display the information on a 20x4 LCD display as well. To secure the display bar to the front of your machine, you'll need some 6x2mm magnets like these https://amzn.to/3cpyghQ. The "2 strip" setup will fit two rows of five lights if you use the specified LED strip. The Sketchup file is included with this project, but keep in mind that files may change over time as I continue working on it.
