Light-up She-ra Sword (Remixed from Polymath314)

thingiverse

I decided to create a massive sword for my upcoming She-Ra cosplay. I discovered Polymath's file, but it was significantly too small for what I needed, so I recreated the blade files to accommodate lights and a central support rod. I also reworked their handle files, splitting them into four parts per side, with a hollowed-out chamber and an access panel that can fit a rocker switch. For the electronics, I used two Flexible Silicone Neon-Like LED Strips in Cold White, connected to a 9v battery (with a battery clip) and a rocker switch. The access panel on the sword allows you to replace the battery as needed. To keep the battery pack secure, I lined the inside of the door with thin foam, which provided a snug fit. The door prints as two pieces that lock around the rocker switch using Weld #16. The sword requires additional parts: 1. A 40" wooden dowel 2. A 12" wooden dowel for the hilt to handguard connection 3. Weld #16 glue 4. Friction-welded seams with a Dremel (all transparent seams) 5. Sandpaper, grit 240-2500 6. XTC-3D for the blade Also needed: 1. A 9v battery 2. A 9v battery clip 3. Stranded wire 4. A rocker switch 5. Heat shrink 6. Solder 7. Two Flexible Silicone Neon-Like LED Strips in Cold White (from Adafruit) 8. Spackle 9. Primer/filler 10. Paint 11. Gold leather 1" strips
