Up Your Minecraft Cosplay Game with This Epic Light Up Sword! Features: This awesome sword is designed to be built using a 3D Printer and a laser cutter, tools easily accessible in most makerspaces. Read through this guide to build your own epic sword today! This life-size sword lights up and has range estimation to connect multiple swords together, so you can tell when your buddies are close or when you're on your own to battle the zombie hordes. 3D Printing: All files will fit on a Makerbot Replicator 2 (and were printed on our CTC Replicators), other printers may vary. Simply print as follows: Handle Pt1 V1 x1 Handle Pt2 V1 x1 Middle Hilt V1 x1 Hilt Side V1 x2 Pommel Top V1 x1 Pommel Bottom V1 x1 Square Insert V1 x2 Then, either bolt the parts with bolts and glue the wings to the hilt. We printed ours in PLA, but this should work just as well with ABS. Laser Cutting: Two files are included: blade.dxf & squares.dxf. The blade file will cut out the perimeter and bolt holes at the base of the blade. The squares file is for engraving the top of the sword with the pattern. The material required for this section is 10mm acrylic. We buy ours from The Plastic People as it's free shipping over £30. It's best to get in a group order with your friends. You could, in theory, use any material here, but the interface to the plastic is 10mm. Electronics: The electronics for this sword are based on an Arduino and can be purchased on Tindie. Check it out! https://www.tindie.com/products/ThinkEngineer/-light-up-minecraft-style-sword-electronics/ Software: The software for the Arduino on the electronics will be coming very soon. Stay tuned, it's going to be epic! Disclaimer: This project is brought to you by the creative minds at Think Engineer and is not endorsed by Minecraft. This is simply a passion project created as a homage to a great video game. Print Settings: Printer: CTC Replicator Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: No Resolution: Any Infill: 20% Notes: I printed these at 20% just to give a bit of structural rigidity to the parts. The acrylic blade is quite heavy, however printing much over 20% takes a very long time due to the size of the sword.
