I was in urgent need of a new light switch plate, specifically designed for a 3-switch box that had one of its switches removed, leaving a blank space that needed to be filled. After conducting an online search, I found that these custom plates were either extremely hard to find or came with a hefty price tag, which is why I decided to take matters into my own hands and design my own. I started by modifying the original model to create a range of different combinations, including single switch, double switch, and blank plate designs. With my new models in hand, I set up my 3D printer to create the plates, using glass as the printing material and adding a skirt for extra support. Once the printing process was complete, I carefully sanded the face down with wet-dry paper, switching between 230-grit and 600-grit to achieve a smooth finish. Although it's worth noting that the infill can be visible if inspected closely, which is why priming and painting would likely be beneficial in the future.
