The transmitter portion is engineered to accommodate two 0805 surface-mount device LEDs, while the receiver slot accepts an 0805 SMD photo transistor (such as the Everlight PT17-21C). The walls of the transmitter section can be lined with adhesive plastic silver foil to enhance light emission.
