Light Saber Stand
thingiverse
I have just uploaded a v2, and I'm still considering making adjustments to the tolerances - it's possible that my printer is causing issues though. I also included a few pictures of one printed with this new version; however, I did need to trim it slightly after printing so it would fit properly. Following an initial assessment of the design, I've tweaked the tolerances and initiated another test print. If it fits more smoothly this time around, I'll make sure to upload the updated v2 for your use. As I work through the initial design phase, I wanted to share with you that I designed these props specifically for my buddy who recently got into collecting light saber sets - they look quite striking, don't they? Right now, there's a slight issue with the tolerances; I printed them out in PLA using 0.2mm layer heights and a 0.4mm nozzle diameter. Upon inspection of the prints so far, it seems like adjusting the base part by just 1% might help to improve its overall fit - perhaps scaling up the original file a tiny bit would yield better results? In addition, you might want to consider increasing your infill density to at least 20% - one of my prints began to bend slightly as I attempted to insert it into place. Below are my current print settings: * Printer: Prusa i3 * Rafts: None used * Supports: Used * Resolution: 0.2mm layer height * Infill density: Started at 15% and should ideally be closer to 20% for a stronger build
