Light Pipe Adapter Pi3 - Vertical
thingiverse
I'm upgrading the light pipes to bring them in from above the LEDs on my Pi3. To make that happen, I've enlarged the holes to 1.8mm so they'll clear 1.75mm PLA just fine. I've also kept the horizontal holes for lower profile designs, but enlarged those too, to 1.8mm. Next step is to print it out and check the hole size – they're probably a bit too small as is. I added a version with 1.9mm holes, which fits much better. I rounded out the holes using a pointed pick and worked it in with a twist to smooth out the slight deformity of the first layer. My 1.75mm filament slid right in. Just for testing, I stuck it against a Pi2 – but that was a mistake because the LEDs are actually on the other side of the board. Unfortunately, my only Pi3 is part of a RetroPie station I built for the nephews, so I won't be able to test fit this onto a board until Amazon delivers another one.
