Custom battery shield for large lithium-ion packs. I created this protective casing specifically for my high-capacity lipo batteries, which are installed under the base of my aircraft. This design also helps keep the quadcopter stable during launch due to its low center of gravity. I use PLA material in 3D printing and then apply heat with a blowtorch to make the plastic soft and pliable. This thermal treatment fuses the layers together, allowing for impact resistance even at moderate infill levels of only 10%.
