Light for Moon Lamp - ESP8266, WS2812b
thingiverse
This is an LED light designed specifically for a modified version of an 8-inch moon lamp, which can be found on Thingiverse under the ID #2771919. The lamp consists of a custom-built frame that houses an ESP8266 module in the form of a D1 Mini board. This board connects to a WS2812 LED strip, enabling control over the LED illumination for the 8-inch (20cm) moon lamp. The mounted LED is secured using hot melt adhesive to the lower part of the moon lamp, which features a hole for the USB plug. The USB plug is then inserted into the main body of the lamp. In addition to the printed parts required for this project, you will need the following components: * A D1 Mini board for ESP8266 * A 470µF capacitor * A 470 Ohm resistor * A 14-LED WS2812 strip Aside from the frame, the reset switch can be accessed through an additional printed pin. While not strictly necessary once the system is up and running, this feature does provide some added functionality. Furthermore, a cone-shaped piece is included to secure the D1 Mini board in place within the frame. These two components may require some fine-tuning with sandpaper to ensure a smooth fit. For those interested in programming their ESP822 module, a wiring diagram and simple Arduino sketch are available on GitHub at [https://github.com/jomjol/moon-lamp-LED-ESP8266](https://github.com/jomjol/moon-lamp-LED-ESP8266). This code enables the creation of an Http-Server that allows for wireless control over the LED illumination. Lastly, a simple support for the lamp is also available on Thingiverse under the ID #3531475.
