Light fixing for a caravan
thingiverse
This is a custom enclosure for mounting backup cameras, lights, and license plate illumination systems on trailers or caravans. The original housing for the license plate lights was too compact to accommodate a backup light, prompting me to design this alternative solution. Constructed in three sections with integrated support pegs to facilitate assembly, it provides additional stability to the entire system. However, I encountered some delamination issues on certain walls during production, necessitating the incorporation of internal support plates or reinforced walls for improved structural integrity. The enclosure is fabricated from ABS plastic, bonded together using a suitable adhesive. To achieve a smoother finish, I employed a technique involving manual heat application to melt and re-form the adjacent filaments, yielding moderate results. A more thorough approach involved applying filler primer, sanding, and repeating this process multiple times before finally coating it with paint.
