Light cycles, initially imagined by Syd Mead for Tron's virtual world, are futuristic motorcycle-like vehicles that generate walls of colored light. Five real-life versions were created by Parker Brothers Concepts in Florida; one sold at Sotheby's for $77,000. These vehicles feature constant motion and leave a trail of light behind them, with players eliminated upon hitting a wall. Since Tron's debut, numerous adaptations and cultural references have emerged.
