Our overlocker needed a new light bulb. Changing the bulb turned out to be difficult, needing a tool that the maker sells (see the last photo). With no dealer nearby, and the weekend already here so mail order would take too long, I designed the simplest possible tool to do the job. The challenge in changing the light bulb is that the lamp is likely to have stuck itself into place over several years, and there is no room inside a sewing machine, overlocker or similar machine to get fingers in to release the bulb. The bulb I needed to change was a standard 240V, 10W, medium bayonet fitting with outside diameter of 20mm. The .stl file will print the tool that fitted this bulb If you have a different size bulb, use the .scad file and change the “bulb” parameter to suit. [Note: my printer needs the diameter parameter to be 2mm less than the actual, to allow the tool to slip nicely over the bulb] And if you need a bit more grip to turn the tool when it's on the bulb, just wind an elastic band around it.If you really need a different size but can't work with the .scad file, just message me with what you need and I'll create an .stl file for you.
