My wife is quite the Cricut guru and wanted a light box to make weeding (as she calls it) the vinyl cuts from some of her projects easier.I designed and built a large light box for her, but after seeing how she uses it I decided to make a more compact version. That resulted in this iteration, which measures 200mm X 200mm and therefore should be printable on most i3 machines.Required HardwareLED strip lightsPower source Light switch Printing Instructions The model comprises of three parts:Bottom/base part Diffuser Top/cover part The top and bottom parts should ideally be printed with 0.2mm layer heights. I used white PLA for the base and wood-filled PLA for the cover. Using a white base will probably help with reflecting the light better.The diffuser is 1.0mm thick and comes out fine with a 0.3mm layer height. I used transparent PETG but you can use white PLA. You may just want to mount the LED lights flat against the bottom of the base rather than lining the side (per my pics) if you find that using white PLA reduces the light too much.No supports are required for any of the parts. Assembly The parts all press fit together so no glue or fixing is required. Install the LED strip/s into the base (running the power cable through the hole before soldering). As above, if you printed the diffuser screen out of white filament then you may want to mount the LED lights flat against the bottom of the base rather than lining the sides.The diffuser then press fits into the base, and the top cover fits over the base and diffuser, with a gap in the cover for the power cable.The tolerances are pretty tight but everything should squeeze into place.
