Light Activated Chalk Board
thingiverse
I am designing a simple chalkboard in OpenSCAD using a rounded square example found on Thingiverse. The board is slightly smaller than 200x200, the largest size I can print with my Da Vinci 1.0. I used cheap Inland glow-in-the-dark filament from Microcenter to bring it to life. Simply shine any light source on it at night and watch it glow, perfect for helping kids wind down before bed. A UV light will make it truly radiant! For this video, I'm using the UV pen that comes with Ido3d kits, but any UV light from Amazon or elsewhere will work just as well. There are two versions of this design: a thin, flimsy original and a thick, more sturdy version that won't bend or warp under its own weight. To add some extra flair, try decorating it with Monarch butterflies, also available on Thingiverse.
