Sub 250g quadcopter is needed for many of us who live in countries with restrictions. 4-inch quadcopters are becoming more popular these days because you can get them to fly longer, be under 250g, and even do freestyle. To keep the frame light and get rid of props in the FPV view, people have been designing deadcat style frames for such a long time. For example, grasshopper, FR7, and Dave_c frames. You can even name more 4-inch light frames became more popular by Dave_c who designed a great long-range frame. It supports both analog and digital. It also has replaceable arms. I started designing this frame since I have been flying a grasshopper frame for many years and I always liked it. Dave_c frame has great features and I wanted to incorporate some of them into a new frame. I moved to digital and I mostly use the DJI air unit. The original version of Dave_c does not support the DJI air unit so I started to design a similar frame with the capability to use the air unit and some modifications I wanted to have. Anyhow, I am gonna keep it short and just list the features of this frame. << Features >> - Supports analog and digital - Support the DJI air unit and Caddx vista - Support 20x20, 16x16, 25x25 mounting holes (2x: 20x20), (2x: 16x16), (1x:20x02 and 1x:25x25),(1x:16x16 and 1x:25x25), (1x:20x20 and 1x:25x25) - It is a unity body << For cutting, I suggest the following configuration >> - 1.5mm for the top plate - 2.5mm for a light bottom plate and 3.5mm for a really strong one (the difference was around 7g for me) << dxf files for cutting >> - all files including different variations are inside duke_vah_frame_v1.zip << Hardware >> - 8x m2 25mm standoffs for maximum strength. You can go with 6x too. For low profile, you need 20mm m2 standoffs (even you can go up to 18 if you want). I always run it with 6x m2 standoffs. - 16x, 6mm m2 screws << weights >> - full build with HGLRC zeus35a, cap, the DJI air unit, lost buzzer, GPS, strap, etc 167g - full build with HGLRC FD413, cap, the Caddx vista, lost buzzer, GPS, strap, etc 135g << PID >> you will see PID values (slides) in one of the uploaded pictures. It is ongoing work! << sample video >> https://youtu.be/ktkLHU-V5nw
