<p>This fixture can be used to surface mount the LIFX GU10 Downlight or other low-wattage GU10 LED lights. It's designed to fit a standard American 4-inch circular electrical junction box. The base can accommodate a standard GU10 socket (example linked below), allowing for permanent installation via two M3 screws or an adhesive/resin of your choice.</p> <p>A standard 4-inch circular junction box should accept two 8/32" screws spaced at a distance of 3.5" -- the mount holes on the base will line-up accordingly. The lamp screws into the installed socket and is then covered by the shade which is held in-place via four retaining tabs positioned in a rotational locking pattern.</p> <p>Do NOT use this fixture with standard halogen GU10 lamps unless you are sure the filament you've selected can accommodate the extreme heat.
