Sculpture Print of David Neff's 123D Catch scan from the Met MakerBot Hackathon scaled to near life-size has been created by the user. The sculpture stands tall at 38.4cm when assembled. Two sets of files are available: one for regular Cupcakes with 26 parts (untested) and another for tall Cupcakes like the user's, which includes 16 parts. A Zydac's Z-axis upgrade from thingiverse.com/thing:4716 is recommended as it is quite easy to install. The sculpture was sliced and printed using ReplicatorG 37 along with Skeinforge 35, featuring rafts and exterior support, without shells, a 10% infill, and .4mm layer height. Netfabb Studio was utilized to split the parts into sections. A few parts required more support material than usual but were kept standing in their final orientations for simplicity. The user has made available two sets of STL files - deity\_scaled\_stl\_tall.zip and deity\_scaled\_stl\_stock.zip, each containing the full set of files for tall Cupcakes (16 parts) or stock Cupcakes (26 parts). Gcode files are also available in the form of deity\_scaled\_gcode\_tall.zip and deity\_scaled\_gcode\_stock.zip for those using a MK4 Cupcake with a heated build platform. Three Netfabb Studio project files - unsliced, stock, and tall versions of the sculpture are contained in the deity\_scaled\_netfabb.zip file. The Skeinforge 35 profile used for this project is also available in the deity\_scaled\_skeinforge.zip file. A spreadsheet named deity\_scaled\_parts.xlsx sorts parts by group and lists each one's printing time, with worksheets for tall Cupcakes and stock Cupcakes. During printing, parts should be assembled according to the spreadsheet, labeling them with duct tape and a marker for easy identification. Rafts and support material should be carefully removed from each part, followed by manual removal of stringy bits if needed. Stubborn raft bits can be removed using sandpaper as necessary. Assembly involves working in groups of parts according to the spreadsheet, starting from the bottom layer and moving upwards, bonding parts together with Gorilla Super Glue or another preferred adhesive. Finally, a few coats of Krylon "Make It Stone!" white onyx spray paint were applied for finishing. The user also provides links to Gorilla Super Glue, Met Hackathon, and Krylon "Make It Stone!" textured spray paint.
