The findings from a recent LIF survey conducted at an old rail yard in Alberta, Canada reveal a clear picture of what happened. By capturing the suspected release point and tracing its subsequent downward flow, researchers were able to pinpoint the trajectory of the contaminated plume. The data gathered by this LIF survey show that LNAPL moved freely across the site in all directions, both horizontally and vertically.
