Lid Storage for 48-400 Cap (3 Gallon or 5 Gallon Water Bottle)

This small part is threaded to accept the lid commonly on 3 and 5 gallon water jugs in the United States. I created it as a place to store the lid for a water bottle when it is in use in a water cooler. You can print in any material, but I recommend PETG for this application. In contrast to many designs available , the threads in this designed are compliant to SP 48-400 finish standards. Two thread profiles are provided; General purpose "L" threads and modified buttress "M" threads. Both profiles exceed the typically print-safe 45 degree overhang angle, but due to the sweeping angle of the threads can still be printed without supports. The general purpose threads have a more shallow overhang and should be easier to print, while the modified buttress threads will provide a tighter seal.
