I was prepared to wait two weeks for a complimentary warranty replacement for this part, but they seem to snap very easily. Brabantia offers an excellent warranty policy that replaces broken parts free of charge, yet a two-week delivery timeframe with a smelly bin and an unhappy wife is unacceptable. A more efficient approach would be designing a replacement and 3D printing it - I accomplished the task in 40 minutes. So, I thought I'd share the design. This way, Brabantia can lower its warranty servicing costs, and some people on this forum might receive fixed bins sooner, leading to happier wives (or husbands). Print Settings: Printer: Rafts: Yes Supports: Yes Resolution: 50-micron Infill: Full Notes: I printed mine in PLA, and the slight flexibility seems to work well. For added durability, you could try printing with ABS. Post-Printing: Trim Use a sharp knife to trim off rough bits and threads or they might catch in the mechanism.
