Tossed together a b style standoff for my lancool since i snapped two off while cleaning my computer, then snapped off another seeing just how brittle they were x) Printed standing upright with and without supports... and supports on base only definately the way to go, offset it a mm or two to account for the sag on the base, but seems to be working. In theory u could extrude just the width of the top peice of the whole thing to print on side to make it much more rigid and the screw should keep it center :) but I already finished this way, sauce included.
