Li-Ion Battery Pack 6S6P 18650 | 21,6V
thingiverse
I built a portable battery pack to power my drones on the go. I selected 36 Samsung INR18650-35E 3500mAh batteries, giving it a total capacity of (3.5Ah x 6) * 6 * 3.6V = 454Wh. The weight is 1965g, or approximately 4.3g per Wh, which I think is impressive. For comparison, my previous charging pack was a 4S 16Ah lipo battery weighing in at 1322g and offering 237Wh - that's roughly 5.5g per Wh, although it wasn't safely stored in a rigid case like this one. You can find all the parts you need by checking out the pictures and files I've included. The pack configurations, screws required for assembly, soldering instructions, and more are all there. Note that balancer plugs and an XT-60 connector are also necessary - I somehow managed to leave those out of the pictures. I was also experimenting with multicolor printing on this project, so you might not be a fan of my logo design. If that's the case, feel free to use the nologo files provided instead. The FreeCAD project file is attached as well, allowing you to customize everything according to your preferences. For building the pack itself, I used Minadax ASA-X filament, which is suitable for outdoor use. You can, however, opt for other materials - just be sure they don't shrink too much or the cells won't fit properly.
