Li-Ion Battery-Case for Albrecht AE-2990
thingiverse
This is an alternative battery pack for the Albrecht AE-2990 handheld CB radio. It houses 3 18650 Li-Ion cells and has a 5-pin pin-header receptacle at the bottom for charging (1 pin is N/C for polarity protection. The two battery contacts are shortish pieces of house-installation copper wire that are bent so that the knee of the bendage pokes through the hole to make contact with the springy contact on the radio. Use common sense to avoid short circuits between those contacts and the cells right below them. I used 8mm long plastic screws with a torx6 head to fasten the top to the cell container. There are two cell-holders that have the purpose of keeping the cells apart and keep them from wiggling around in the enclosure. If you care about the health of your cells you should also add a Li-Ion 3s battery protection module. I used PETG, this makes the enclosure tough and fairly resistant to heat (like the inside of a car in the summer).
