LH Footrest extension for Mitsubishi Pajero NW model
thingiverse
The Mitsubishi NW Pajero's existing LH footrest was repositioned with an added herringbone pattern to provide extra grip. The distance between the existing LH footrest and the brake pedal in the Mitsubishi NW Pajero measures an uncomfortable 40 mm more for the left foot. To balance this issue, my father and I used Autodesk 123D to design this custom solution. The new footrest is secured firmly using four wood screws, attaching it to the existing foam underlay. For creation, we printed the custom part in ABS on a Makerbot Replicator 1 Dual with settings including 90/150 mm/s speed, 0.2 mm layer thickness and 2 shells, plus 10% infill. Rafting was also employed along with support material, with just minimal supports added specifically for counterbore assemblies due to printing requirements. Interestingly, the footrest's top face remains stable without the need for further supporting materials throughout printing process, finishing it within around 4 hours.
