This is an insert that may be used for a LGB Uintah Mallet battery conversion. The insert is placed in the rear steam dome (which has a removable top), and supports a center-off DPDT switch and a charging port. After wiring the switch and charging port, the DPDT switch may switched one direction to power the locomotive with the battery, and it may be switched the other direction to charge the battery. The steam dome fits back on top of the insert and hides the switches when they are not being used.
