LGB type Coupler with decoupler mechanism
thingiverse
After some prompting, I have revisited the Hook and Loop type train couplings. I have completely revised my Loop and Look model to approximate to the LGB types. I have also drawn up a replacement plastic spring. The loop is specifically of cylindrical section to match the rotation plane of the decoupler plunger. The main reason for the re-design was to test out the "Heyn/Fertig" "ENTKLGB" type decoupler mechanism. This is a "Plunger" that levers down the hook and disengages any attached hook. "Plunger LGB" is slightly smaller and is designed to fit Standard LGB loops. The commercial version of the decoupler plunger/lever is made of metal. This copy is made of plastic and is only to show the principle, although with stiffening, it may be made to work. I believe, but have not tested, that the dimensions of the real part are similar, so the pilot holes in the man body/loop may allow fitting of the "proper" Heym/Fertig" mechanism. I plan to revise my own Electric decoupler https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1000218) to match the improved dimensions and plastic spring of this design.
