LGA771 to 120mm Fan Adaptor
thingiverse
I acquired a SuperMicro X7DCL-i featuring two LGA771 processors and two SNK-P0017 1u Passive Heatsinks initially. I attempted to install the standard CPU coolers used in typical computer builds and secured them to the motherboard with zip ties. Unfortunately, they failed to perform well, and I was concerned about the risk of a fire. I adapted Engineer6's design, positioning the cooler above the passive heatsinks to function like a conventional CPU cooler. To meet my needs, I printed two units, with one positioned slightly offset as seen in the accompanying photographs. Given the uniqueness of my setup, I doubt many will have a similar configuration; however, I wanted to share the design. Although it may not be aesthetically pleasing, the cooler is designed to be out of sight, and if you do use it, even for one CPU, you won't notice its presence anyway.
