LG PF1500 Largo Fan Adapter 60mm

My LG Largo/PF1500-EU has been working flawlessly for several years, but I've never used the lower ECO modes because they're too loud. To achieve more silent ECO modes, it's possible to upgrade from the internal 2x40mm fans to 2x60mm fans on the outside. I've created a customized backplate to attach the fan mount. The backplate is quite close to the original model and fits perfectly for me. There are two tubes directly on the backplate going into the device to guide the air onto the heatsinks. The second part, the fan mount itself, is connected with the backplate inside the tubes with 6 clips. Watch out for the tight spots on the plugs. There's just enough space for the power plug and I guess you'd need a 90-degree adapter for the HDMI port if you have to use it. The clips are quite fragile; they fit in once but taking it apart again could easily break the clips. Print with supports everywhere above 50 degrees for the space under the clips and inside the clips for durable teeth. There are small plates below the clips because I had some issues with support structures falling down. I've included a close-to-original backplate without fan mount as well, if anyone needs it. (It doesn't fit with the fan duct.) For the fan mod, I chose Cooltek 60mm silent fans. They're indeed silent but with the current hot summer, the ambient temperature is quite high (33 degrees C), which leads to high temps in ECO mode min (64 degrees C) with 12v fan duty set in the service menu. With lower ambient temperatures around 27 degrees C, the ECO mode min stays below 60 degrees C, which is fine for me. I've expected more from this mod but guess the added distance of 6cm negates the size advantage of the fans in combination with the "silent" power downgrade. Maybe I'll try other fans or even upgrade to 80mm at some point. The LG Largo/PF1500-EU is definitely still worth it, and just came out as V2.
