LG Nexus 4 Cellphone Mock-up for Cover/Case Design
thingiverse
I designed a precise mock-up of an LG Nexus 4 phone with accuracy on a 100% scale. The camera and speaker positions are clearly identified by shallow depressions on both the front and back surfaces, precisely 0.1 mm deep. The headphone jack, microphone, and USB/charging ports are located at deeper recesses along the edges. The power and volume buttons stand out prominently on either side with raised designs. This design was carefully crafted using advanced technology. I reverse-engineered a precise 3D scan of an actual LG Nexus 4 phone to create this model. I derived the surface geometry and parametric data from the captured mesh model, then exported it for further analysis. Autodesk 123D Design was used to create a parametric model and export an STL mesh file. I carefully measured the dimensions, perimeter profile, and edge radii from the 3D scan geometry to ensure accuracy. The perimeter profile was extruded and edges were filleted using best-fit parametric entities. I created features and embossed or raised them in the correct locations for a precise design. The front view of this mock-up showcases the precise details. The back view demonstrates the intricate design, with features carefully crafted to match the original phone.
