LG G7 ThinQ Smartphone Case (TPU and PETG version)
prusaprinters
I designed this LG G7 ThinQ case for myself, because it gets harder and harder to find decent cases for this old smartphone.Took me way longer than I expected (pretty complex form, hard to measure, many unknown radiuses), but after over a week of work and test-prints the fit is now really tight.I included 2 versions, which only differ in the thickness of the case and the USB-C hole:TPU - This one is my favorite. However you should use as hard TPU as you can find!I used extrudr Flex Hard, which gave perfect results. The softer Amazon Basics TPU is already a bit too soft imo, as you will be able to move the case on the sides. Usable but not awesome.PETG - This one is notably thinner, which you might prefer or not.Of course other materials with similar hardness should work as well. Don't use PLA though (or PLA+). It's too hard. Not only is it hard to get your phone in and out … it can also scratch off the paint on your phone. For perfect results make sure to dry your Filament and preferably print directly out of a drybox. Also use proper values for Linear Advance! Also use a 0.2mm 1st Layer and 0.15mm Layer for the rest. And use the “Classic” Slicing method. Arachne currently (21.11.2022) produces strange artefacts around the knob-holes.I also recommend to use the “Snug” Supports with “For support enforcers only” in PrusaSlicer.Use the “Smart Fill” option to paint in the supports for the slotted holes (you might have to lower the “Smart fill Angle”).I included G-Code and 3mf files for the MK3S+.And I also included STEP files for easy modification.
