LG G3 Charging and AUX Dock
thingiverse
Here is a custom-made dock for the LG G3, taking into account that I finally managed to achieve near perfection after numerous attempts. Currently, this dock has been designed specifically with an Otterbox Symmetry case in mind for the LG G3. A port for the charging cable is cleverly positioned underneath it, allowing users to easily connect their device and keep it powered up at all times. The docking station also offers space to insert a 3.5mm aux cable beneath it, offering added functionality without sacrificing valuable desk space. As can be observed from the accompanying photos, there appears to be an intricate pattern woven throughout the dock itself - this is primarily due to a specific issue that arose during printing. Fortunately, this particular issue has been rectified and now, my trusty printer operates flawlessly, rendering these kinds of flaws entirely unnecessary. Nonetheless, I still chose not to re-print the design for purely aesthetic reasons; instead, allowing users to see exactly how it was constructed via the downloadable 3D model files. Those with an eye for detail may even catch a glimpse of some leftover minor banding artifacts along the Z axis that, though now fully resolved in practice, only add an extra layer of authenticity to the finished piece - testament to my diligence as a printer. In addition to the end result itself being a genuine delight, numerous hours were dedicated to making sure this was a project well worth showcasing here for everyone. Feel free to request any necessary adaptations and, if it happens, I'll make sure they get added; in particular, an LG G3 dock sans the Otterbox Symmetry case would certainly be highly sought after and could find its way onto this website pretty soon! It is also worth noting that despite using a heavily customized printrbot simple to print out my custom-made 3D printer model dock, the resulting dimensions still ensure a snug fit in even an unmodified printrbot simple printer. Print Settings - Printrbot PLA - rotate your printed object so it rests exactly where it's supposed to. This eliminates any unnecessary stress on your machine during post-processing operations and produces great results every single time! - No supports were necessary at all; the structure came out fine with this particular design!
