I captured a point cloud from the Matterport Scenes app, aiming to convert it into an obj file with MeshLab and troubleshoot why Maya refuses to display color per vertex. My story is this: I attempted to scan a stunning part of the forest teeming with towering trees, but discovered that the Phab2Pro (Tango) technology only extended approximately 10 feet from my camera. As a result, the majestic trees just beyond range remain out of view. To supplement this data, I took some 360-degree camera shots, hoping to integrate them into my forestry debris VR project. Alternatively, I might choose to redo the scan using RTAB-Map to ensure I obtain a textured mesh.
