Levitation / Circular Enclosure for 20mm Diameter Motors
thingiverse
This design will work seamlessly with any motor featuring a 20mm diameter. We're still on the lookout for that elusive perfect storm, which would ideally combine high RPMs with lower power consumption - if you've got some insights to share, feel free to contribute. We see this design as a natural fit for several robotics applications, particularly those involving GPIO-based levitation experiments. To share our stackable cylindrical presentation concept with the community, we're releasing a tidy little design that can be easily layered and customized. Key details: * Case holes measure 6mm in diameter. * We'll likely add pins to the design soon. * The included fan designs cater to either a 2mm or 1mm shaft; to avoid errors, double-check your measurements before printing, and feel free to use this design with other motors. The inner circle fits snugly around a 20mm square or round motor, so adhesive isn't required. We're currently using 9G servos in our project, as the design is lightweight and intended for gimbaled usage. This design allows for pulse widths of up to 70%, enabling higher voltages to be applied in a linear and mathematically predictable manner. This not only keeps things cooler but also provides a more efficient operation model.
