Levitating Vibration Isolator For Trinus
thingiverse
This is a vibration isolator designed for the Trinus 3D printer that utilizes the power of magnetic repulsion to levitate the top half, preventing vibrations from transferring to the table and floor. I also observed a noticeable reduction in harmonic vibrations within the room, even though the printer still produces noise, its amplification is minimized. Note: Due to the significant weight of the Trinus printer, you will need to order strong rare earth magnets, which can be found at this link on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Applied-Magnets-Neodymium-Magnet-1-26/dp/B01M22YMPO/ref=sr_1_79?ie=UTF8&qid=1489009401&sr=8-79&keywords=n52+neodymium+magnet Since the printer is heavier at its rear end, this will cause a slight lean backward due to the weight. However, since the extruder and printer bed are on the same axis, the print will remain leveled. If desired, you can level out this effect by reducing the magnetic power of the front magnets or using smaller ones. Designed by LOS Print Settings: Printer: Kodama Trinus Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Doesn't Matter Resolution: .15 for optimal results Infill: 15-20% Notes: Speed: 40-50mm/s Best way to print: Top: Print upside down with the cone taper facing downward (the cone taper is where the Trinus foot fits in). Bottom: Print normally with the wide base on the bed.
